Requirements for Second Degree Initiation
- Spend at least a year and a day as a First Degree Initiate.
- Using a full script form, write and execute a Blue Star sabbat ritual (hinge) from set-up to feast, including a double Drawing Down.
- Write a letter or statement expressing your desire to become a Second Degree Initiate.
- Have a desire to teach and pass on the tradition to students.
- Submit eight comprehensive lesson plans for Outer Court classes.
- Teach at least six Outer Court classes.
- Maintain a collection of materials, including activities, games, meditations, etc., as a resource.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Tenets of Faith.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in four additional Paths of Power, other than the two in which you specialized for First Degree.
- Undertake an in-depth course of study in any one section of a Path of Power (e.g., medicinal herbology, walking meditation, candleburning rituals) and present a class on it to the Grove.
- Demonstrate knowledge of two forms of divination. Be able to use at least one on command and prove at least a working knowledge of the other. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the direction of energy for spellcraft and healing.
- Learn the basics of any healing art (e.g., reiki, chakra healing, massage therapy).
- Perform a community service activity (e.g., be on staff for a gathering, volunteer at a soup kitchen, complete an AIDS walk or bike-a-thon).
- Be able to take full invocation.
- Complete the following classes and associated homework:

- Altar Tools
- Ritual Excellence
- The Elements, Part 2: The Pacts
- The 2nd Degree Talk
- Teaching for the Untrained: Basic Instruction Techniques
- Worthiness: How to Tell if a Student is Right for You
- Lay Counseling series
- Spellcasting series
- Invocation series
- Complete the following required reading:
