Grove and Coven Structure
Balefire Coven and Grove operates on a three-degree system with both an Outer and an Inner Court. To explain this better, it might be worth considering the Grove as an entirely separate entity from the Coven. In the Venn diagram below, then, you"ll see that, while all members of the Coven are de facto members of the Grove, the opposite is most definitely not so.
The Coven is run by the High Priest and Priestess of Balefire (at this moment, Cat is the HPs and there is no HP since the death of George left the position vacant). The Grove is run by the Summoner and Handmaiden of the Coven, also known as the Priest and Priestess of the Grove. It's their prerogative, with guidance from the HP/s, to set the Grove schedule, make decisions about Grove issues, and generally see to the Grove's smooth operation.
Those who are initiated by a Balefire Coven member are often offered membership into the Coven, though that is not an automatic thing and is by unanimous vote of the Coven members.
